Child Safety Standards

Effective date: October 11, 2026

LabMate does not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) or child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form. This page describes the standards, reporting options, and our response, which apply to both the LabMate apps and the website (labmate.cloud).

What is prohibited (zero tolerance)
  • Posting, sharing, requesting, or distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or links to it
  • Posts, images, comments, or messages that sexualize children or depict them sexually
  • Approaching a child for sexual purposes or arranging to meet one (grooming), and sexual exploitation or extortion of children
  • Content that glorifies or encourages any of the above
  • These standards apply equally to public posts, comments, direct messages, and anonymous posts, and we act without prior warning
Who LabMate is for
  • LabMate is a research community for university and graduate students and researchers. It is not directed at children
  • LabMate does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (as stated under "Children's Privacy" in our Privacy Policy)
How to report
  • Tap the more (⋯) menu on a post or comment, choose "Report", and select a reason; the report goes to our team. Mentioning in the details field that it concerns child safety helps us review it first
  • Use "Block author" in the same menu to stop seeing that author's posts and comments
  • If you cannot use the app or website, or the content cannot be reported from a menu (for example, a direct message), email support@labmate.cloud. Including the link to the content or when it was posted helps us find it quickly
  • If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or police first
How we respond
  • Our team reviews every report and removes content that violates these standards
  • Accounts that violate these standards are restricted (banned), which blocks sign-in and posting
  • We report to law enforcement and relevant authorities as required by applicable law, including Korea's Act on the Protection of Children and Youth against Sex Offenses, and cooperate with investigations as needed
  • LabMate does not operate automated content detection; we rely on user reports and review by our team
