윤동원 교수 연구실(Bio Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory, BiRO)은 DGIST 로봇및기계전자공학전공 소속으로, 자연에서 영감을 받은 생체모방 로봇과 소프트 로보틱스, 웨어러블 로봇·센서를 연구한다. 4족 보행 로봇, 뱀 로봇, 조류·수중 로봇 등 자연 구동 원리를 응용한 로봇 요소기술과 의료·산업 메카트로닉스 응용을 다룬다. 윤동원 교수는 학과장을 맡고 있다.
