KAIST 공학생물학대학원 임성순 교수의 응용미생물학 및 생명공학 연구실(Yim Lab)이다. 시스템·합성생물학 기반 기술을 개발해 미생물 생태계를 대규모로 특성화하고 공학적으로 설계하며, 인간 장내 미생물군부터 산업 바이오리액터까지 '프로그래밍 가능한 마이크로바이옴'을 구현하는 것을 목표로 한다. 고처리량 DNA 합성·시퀀싱, 분자 기록(molecular recording), 유도진화 등을 활용한다.
