배진우 교수 연구실(미생물생태학 연구실)은 경희대 생명과학과 소속으로, 토양·해양·하수·담수·인체 장내 등 다양한 환경의 미생물 생태를 연구한다. 병원성 세균을 표적하는 박테리오파지 분리(파지 요법), 한국인 인체 마이크로바이옴·바이롬 분석, 신규 해양·혐기성 미생물 분리·분류, 차세대 염기서열 분석 기반 대규모 환경 DNA 분석 등을 수행한다.
