배위화학과 유기금속 착물을 기반으로 지속가능한 전환을 위한 전이금속 촉매를 연구한다. 광화학과 빛 포집 기술, 소분자 및 풍부한 원소 소재의 활성화, 양성자·전자 이동 과정을 다룬다. 코발트 착물을 이용한 C-H 아민화, 물 산화 및 CO2 환원, 효소 모방 촉매 설계를 대표 주제로 한다.
