초고속 전자현미경을 이용해 시간과 공간 모두에서 원자 단위 분해능으로 물질의 동역학을 관측하는 펨토화학 연구를 수행한다. 저차원 물질의 초고속 현상, 광유도 비평형 상태, 양자점에서의 운반자-포논 상호작용 등을 연구한다. 플라즈모닉 구조의 나노 진동 동역학을 실시간으로 관측하는 등 4D 전자현미경 기법을 발전시키고 있다.
