화합물 반도체 연구실(CSL)을 이끄는 응집물질물리 실험 분야 교수로, 콜로이드 나노구조와 에피택시 반도체 나노구조의 구조·광학적 특성을 연구한다. 핫인젝션법과 분자선 에피택시로 양자점·코어셸·양자우물·양자선 등을 합성한다. 광전소자의 캐리어 동역학과 효율 향상을 탐구한다.
