나노광학연구실을 이끄는 응집물질물리 실험 분야 교수로, 저차원 물질의 광학적·전자적 특성을 연구한다. MoS2·WS2 등 단층 전이금속 칼코겐화물과 2차원 물질·소자를 In situ 라만 분광·광발광 측정으로 분석한다. 수십 나노미터 분해능의 팁 증강 라만 분광으로 나노스케일 에너지 구조를 규명한다.
