명재욱 교수의 WITHLAB(Waste-Innovating Technologies for Humanity Laboratory)은 환경화학과 환경생물공학 기법으로 고갈·오염되는 물·에너지·재료·식량 자원을 관리하는 연구를 수행한다. 플라스틱·바이오가스 같은 비전통 탄소원의 자원화에 집중하며, 지속가능 수처리/폐수처리, 생분해성 플라스틱 제조, 폐기물 에너지화 기술 등을 연구한다.
