확률론을 연구하며, 무거운 꼬리(heavy-tailed)를 갖는 무한가분 확률과정과 랜덤행렬, 교환가능(exchangeable) 확률 구조를 다룬다. 음의 종속성을 갖는 무거운 꼬리 정상 무한가분 과정에 대한 함수형 중심극한정리 연구로 대한수학회 우수논문상을 수상하였다.
