비평형 기체 및 플라즈마 역학 연구실(KNGPDL)을 이끌며 극한 환경에서의 유동 및 열역학 현상을 정밀하게 해석하는 첨단 수치해석 기법을 개발합니다. 극초음속, 희박기체, 다상 유동 등 복잡한 환경의 유동 해석을 위해 DSMC, Fokker-Planck, BGK 등 입자 기반 모델을 중심으로 연구하며, 대기권 재진입 발사체와 행성 탐사에 필요한 극초음속 환경의 열·공력 특성에 대한 이론 및 해석 연구를 수행합니다.
