김현정 교수의 STAR(Space Testing And payload sensoR) 연구실은 분산형 우주 기반 플랫폼에 탑재되는 센서로부터 새로운 과학적 성과를 얻는 것을 목표로 한다. 항공우주, 재료, 제조, 광학/원격탐사, 역학, 데이터사이언스를 아우르는 융합적 접근으로 우주 원격탐사용 적응형·능동형·재구성형 센서와 과학 탑재체를 연구한다.
