극초음속 연구실(Hypersonics)을 이끌며 다양한 고속 공기역학 실험 연구를 수행합니다. 지상 시험을 위한 충격파 장치를 보유하고 극초음속 비행체 시험을 위한 계측 기법을 개발하며, 대기권 재진입 시 우주 잔해물의 공력 특성과 실제 유동 환경에서의 열·화학 반응 특성을 연구합니다. 주요 연구 분야는 극초음속 공력가열, 지상시험 설비 및 계측, 스크램제트 지상시험입니다.
