KAIST 생명화학공학과 ICT 석좌교수로 녹색성장지속가능대학원에 참여하며 Energy Fundamental Design Laboratory(EFDL)를 이끈다. CO2를 가치 있는 탄소소재로 전환하는 기술과 수소 생산을 위한 화학적 루핑 공정, 리튬-황 전지, 전기화학 촉매를 연구한다. 또한 이산화탄소·수소 가스 하이드레이트와 반응성 분리를 통한 공정 강화를 실험과 분자 모델링으로 함께 탐구한다.
