KAIST 전산학부 부교수로 이론 전산학, 특히 매개변수 복잡도(parameterized complexity)와 고정매개변수 알고리즘, 계산 복잡도 하한을 연구한다. 구조적 그래프 이론, 그래프·매트로이드의 너비 매개변수, 제약 충족 문제(CSP)가 핵심 주제이며 SODA·ICALP·STOC·Journal of ACM 등에 논문을 발표했다. 프랑스 CNRS 연구원을 거쳐 KAIST 전산학부에 부임했다.
