부산대학교 기계공학부 제어자동화시스템 전공 교수로 네트워크 기반 시스템 연구실(NSL)을 운영한다. 차량 내·외부 네트워크 프로토콜(CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet) 설계 및 성능 평가, 자율주행차를 위한 Time-Sensitive Networking(TSN) 기반 결정론적 이더넷을 연구한다. 강화학습 기반 배터리 수명 최적화, 지능형 타이어 노면 상태 판단 연구도 수행한다.
