부산대학교 기계공학부 정밀가공시스템 전공 교수로 Advanced Manufacturing & Optical Instrumentation Lab(AMOI Lab)을 이끈다. 기계공학과 광학기술의 융합을 기반으로 초정밀 광학 측정과 지능형 제조 시스템을 연구한다. 위상천이 간섭무늬 분석, 파장 가변 간섭계 기반 절대 형상 측정, 다축 공작기계의 체적오차 보정 등을 다룬다.
