부산대학교 기계공학부 교수로 차량 동역학 및 에너지 제어 연구실(VDEC)을 운영한다. 자율주행차량 제어, 차량 상태 추정, 섀시 제어, 하이브리드·전기차 에너지 최적 분배, 승객 멀미 저감 모션 플래닝을 연구한다. 모델 예측 제어 및 강화학습 기반 거동 계획 알고리즘 연구도 수행한다.
