부산대학교 기계공학부 교수로 기계요소 및 압력용기 설계 연구를 수행한다. 지로터 오일펌프의 치형 설계, 포트·하우징 최적화, 압력맥동 및 소음 저감 기술을 다룬다. 또한 천연가스·수소·산소 등 특수가스 저장을 위한 초고압·극저온 압력용기 개발과 복합재층 최적설계, 자긴공정을 통한 피로수명 향상을 연구한다.
