임중연 교수 연구실(RoMa Lab)은 동국대 기계공학과 소속으로, 안전로봇과 신소재를 연구한다. 표면증강라만산란(SERS) 센서를 탑재해 위험물질을 현장에서 실시간 분석하는 4족보행로봇 'Googi'를 개발했고, 피부 부착형 SERS 마이크로니들 바이오센서와 금속 도핑 나노기공 카본 기반 스핀트로닉스 소자를 개발하는 등 로봇·센서·신소재를 폭넓게 다룬다.
