KAIST 항공우주공학과 한재흥 교수의 스마트 시스템 및 구조 연구실(Smart Systems and Structures Lab)이다. 기능성 재료를 활용한 스마트 구조·시스템의 설계·구현·제어를 핵심으로, 생체모방 날갯짓 비행체, 스마트 재료 기반 구조 진동 제어·모니터링, 영상처리 기반 실시간 구조 변형 예측을 연구한다. 한 교수는 인공위성연구소(SaTReC) 소장을 겸하며 우주·위성 시스템과 구조 동역학·제어를 다룬다.
