이원철 교수 연구실(생물다양성연구실)은 한양대 생명과학과 소속으로, 다양한 서식지에서 채집한 메이오파우나(meiofauna)와 동물플랑크톤의 생물다양성과 분류학을 연구한다. 현재 요각류(copepods), 유공충(foraminifers), 해파리 등을 주요 대상으로 한다.
