선해상 교수 연구실은 UNIST 수리과학과 소속으로, 정수론을 연구한다. 다양한 L-함수의 특수값과 그 p-진 대응물의 산술, 원분 p-진 L-함수의 μ-불변량의 소멸, 특수 L-값의 비소멸성을 다루며 연분수의 분포와 동역학도 연구해 해석적·대수적 정수론을 잇는다.
