이재성 교수 연구실(ECOCAT Lab)은 UNIST 에너지화학공학과 소속으로, 광촉매·광전기화학·전기촉매 기반의 인공광합성과 태양광 수소 생산을 연구한다. 햇빛과 물만으로 그린 수소를 만드는 인공나뭇잎을 개발해 태양광 수소 전환 효율 10% 이상을 달성했으며, 폐수 속 질산염을 암모니아로 전환하는 광촉매 기술 등도 개발했다.
