KAIST 전산학부 교수로 Computer Vision and Learning Lab(KCVL)을 이끈다. 3D 컴퓨터 비전과 생성형 AI를 위한 머신·딥러닝을 연구하며 관절형 3D 손·신체 복원, 얼굴 분석·인식, 6D 물체 자세 추정, 행동 인식, 물체 검출·추적 등을 다룬다. KAIST 부임 이전 임페리얼 칼리지 런던 부교수를 지냈다.
