KAIST 물리학과 양용수(Yongsoo Yang) 교수의 다차원 원자 이미징 연구실(Multi-Dimensional Atomic Imaging Lab, MDAIL)로, X선·전자 기법을 이용해 물질 내부 개별 원자를 원자 수준에서 3차원으로 관측한다. 원자 전자 토모그래피(AET), 표면 X선 회절(SXRD) 등을 활용해 시간·온도 변화를 포함한 다차원 구조 정보를 규명한다. 실험 응집물질물리, 다차원 전자현미경, 구조 상전이, 기능성 계면이 주요 주제다.
