홍성유 교수 연구실(유기합성 연구실)은 UNIST 화학과 소속으로, 유기합성·전이금속 촉매반응·이차전지용 첨가제 합성을 연구한다. 전이금속 촉매반응 경로를 활용해 탄소-탄소 및 탄소-헤테로원자 결합을 효율적으로 형성하여 기능적으로 복잡한 유기 화합물을 합성한다. 현재 학과장을 맡고 있다.
