위상수학 및 대수기하·조합론의 경계 분야를 연구한다. 토릭 다양체(toric variety)와 깃발 다양체(flag variety)의 Newton–Okounkov 다면체, 끈 다면체(string polytope), 매끄러운 Fano 토릭 다양체의 코호몰로지 강성 등을 조합론적 기법으로 다룬다.
