대수기하학을 전공하며 특이점(singularity) 이론을 주로 연구한다. 혼합 호지 구조(mixed Hodge structure)와 제트 스킴(jet scheme)과의 연관성을 다루며, 초곡면의 고차 Du Bois 특이점, 고립 초곡면 특이점의 호지 아이디얼과 스펙트럼 등에 관한 연구를 수행해 왔다.
