경상국립대학교 기계공학부 조교수로 소음·진동 및 최적설계를 전공한다. 위상최적화, 형상최적화, 다목적최적화 등 다양한 최적설계 기법을 유한요소법(FEM), 파동기반법(WBM), 경계요소법(BEM) 등 해석 기술과 결합하여 구조 강성·진동·소음·열전달을 고려한 최적 설계해를 도출한다. 음향 메타물질 연구도 수행한다.
