경북대 신소재공학부 교수로 무연 압전 소재와 이종구조 촉매를 연구한다. 용융염법으로 제조한 KNN 단결정 마이크로큐브에 산화구리 나노입자를 결합한 이종구조 촉매를 개발해 수질정화에서 우수한 성능을 보였으며, 수소 생산·질소 고정 등 응용 가능성을 제시했다.
