김세구 교수 연구실은 경희대 수학과 소속으로, 매듭이론(knot theory)과 저차원 다양체(low-dimensional manifolds), 기하적 위상수학(geometric topology)을 연구한다. 인디애나대학교에서 Charles Livingston 지도로 'Polynomial splittings of Casson-Gordon invariants' 논문으로 박사학위를 받았으며, Casson-Gordon 불변량 등 대수적 도구로 매듭을 분류하는 문제에 집중한다.
