김명호 교수 연구실은 경희대 수학과 소속으로, 양자군(quantum group)과 이에 관련된 대수적 구조들을 표현론을 이용해 연구한다. 여러 대상에서 나타나는 대칭성을 대수학적 도구로 설명하는 데 관심을 두며, 'Monoidal categorification and quantum affine algebras' 연구로 2023년 ICBS Frontiers of Science Awards(Homological Algebra, K-Theory and Noncommutative Algebra 부문)를 수상했다.
