동방선 교수 연구실은 서강대 화학과 소속으로, 유기합성과 전이금속 촉매, 광화학을 연구한다. 전이금속 촉매를 활용한 C-H 결합 활성화 기반 전합성과 니켈/광촉매를 이용한 C(sp3)-C(sp3) 교차결합 반응 개발에 중점을 둔다. 2023년 부임했으며, 예일대 박사와 프린스턴대 박사후연구원을 거쳤다.
