KAIST 수리과학과 김재경 교수의 Mathematical Biology Lab(Mathbiomed)은 미분방정식·확률과정 등 수학 모델을 이용해 생체 시계(circadian rhythm), 수면, 암, 비선형 동역학 등의 생물학적 현상을 분석한다. 교수는 IBS 의생명 수학 그룹 CI로도 활동하며, 생체 시계가 온도 변화에도 주기를 유지하는 원리를 수학 모델로 규명한 연구를 Science에 발표한 바 있다.
