문건우(Gun-Woo Moon) 교수가 이끄는 KAIST 전기및전자공학부 전력전자연구실(Power Electronics Lab)은 고효율 전력변환 기술과 차세대 전력전자 시스템을 연구한다. 전기차, 데이터센터, 위성·항공우주, 신재생에너지, 가전 등 다양한 분야에 적용되는 고효율 전력 컨버터/인버터 설계 및 제어 기술을 다룬다. 문건우 교수는 Stanford/Elsevier 기준 세계 상위 2% 과학자로 선정되었다.
