이강일 교수의 의료용초음파 연구실은 강원대 반도체물리학과 소속으로, 물리음향과 의학음향을 연구한다. 초음파를 이용한 골다공증 진단, 고강도 집속 초음파(HIFU)를 활용한 암 치료, 골조직 등 다공성 매질의 음향 특성 측정 및 시뮬레이션을 다룬다.
