암호학 연구실(Crypt Lab)을 이끌며 증명가능 안전성(provable security) 관점에서 다양한 암호 기법을 연구한다. 대칭키 암호, 해시 함수, 메시지 인증 코드, 블록 암호 운영 모드 등 암호 프리미티브와 프로토콜의 이론적 기반과 실용적 응용을 함께 다룬다. 최근에는 화이트박스 암호, 동형암호-대칭키 하이브리드 구조, 대칭키 기반 양자내성암호 등을 연구한다.
