KAIST 김재철AI대학원 부교수로 최적화·통계적추론 연구실(Optimization and Statistical Inference Lab, OSI Lab)을 이끈다. 강화학습 이론부터 생성형 AI까지 폭넓은 머신러닝 문제를 다루며, 대규모 언어모델, 생성모델, 신경망 구조 설계, 능동학습 등을 연구한다. 전기전자공학 학사·박사 출신으로 머신러닝 분야 주요 학회에서 활발히 연구를 발표하고 있다.
