나노무기응용화학 실험실(NIAC)로 탄소재료화학 분야를 연구한다. 탄소계 전극·음극 소재와 기능성 탄소소재를 개발하며, MgO 템플릿 기반 칼륨이온전지용 탄소 음극소재 연구를 Chemical Engineering Journal에 게재한 바 있다. 지도교수는 세계 상위 1% 연구자로 선정되었다.
