이론 및 계산 화학 도구를 활용하여 생물 복합체에 중점을 둔 물리화학의 근본적인 질문을 연구한다. 단백질 시스템의 광화학 현상, 양자화학 과정, 생물학적 사건의 통계역학적 요소에 관심을 가지며, 형광 단백질의 동역학, 광합성계의 양자 효과, 생물발광 등을 주요 주제로 다룬다.
