김재용 교수의 고압물리연구실은 한양대 물리학과 소속으로, 극한조건(고압·고온·자기장)에서 발현하는 양자물성을 연구한다. 두 개의 다이아몬드 사이에 시료를 넣어 수만 기압을 가하고 레이저로 수천 도의 고온을 동시에 구현하는 다이아몬드 앤빌 셀 기법을 활용하며, 김 교수는 2023년 한국인 최초로 세계고압학회(AIRAPT) 이사로 선출되었다.
