이지원 교수 연구실(BMEL)은 고려대 화공생명공학과 소속으로, 생명공학·바이오엔지니어링을 연구한다. 단백질·바이러스 나노입자를 활용한 진단 및 치료 융합체를 다루며, 초상자성 금-단백질 나노입자 융합체와 바이러스 나노입자 기반 고감도 진단 기법을 개발하였다. 이 교수는 고려대 특훈교수이다.
