임현섭 교수 연구실(Nanoscale Surface Chemistry Laboratory, 나노표면화학연구실)은 GIST 화학과 소속으로, 분석화학·재료화학을 기반으로 그래핀 등 2차원 나노소재의 새로운 합성법과 표면 화학반응을 연구한다. 화학기상증착(CVD)과 용액 기반 합성으로 원자 수준 박막 소재를 만들며, 임 교수는 2025년 기준 GIST 첨단계측분석센터(GAIA) 센터장을 겸임한다.
