차세대 반도체 기술 연구실(Future Semiconductor Technology Laboratory)을 이끌며 반도체 공정·소자, 산화물 박막, 나노과학을 연구한다. 멤리스터 등 신개념 메모리 소자를 기반으로 뉴로모픽 컴퓨팅용 인공 시냅스·뉴런 소자를 개발해 왔다.
