생물화학공학 전공으로 미생물의 고농도 배양을 통한 바이오케미칼 생산, 나노소재의 생물학적 합성, 바이오플라스틱을 연구하는 연구실입니다. 목질계 바이오매스를 원료로 막 생물반응기에서 박테리아를 고농도 배양하고, 항산화 색소인 아스타잔틴과 PHA를 동시에 생산하는 생물공정을 개발했습니다. 생분해성 플라스틱과 NMN 리포좀 등 바이오 기반 소재 연구를 폭넓게 수행하고 있습니다.
