정승달 교수는 미분기하학을 중심으로 리만기하, 스핀기하, 엽층기하(foliation), 복소기하를 연구한다. 특히 엽층 구조 위의 횡단 기하학과 곡률·라플라시안 등 해석적 기법을 결합한 연구를 수행해 왔다. 자연과학대학 2호관 306호에 연구실이 있다.
