응용나노광학연구실(NANO Lab)을 운영하며 광학·양자정보와 나노물리를 접목한 응용 나노광학을 연구한다. 중견연구사업, 대학중점연구소사업, 경북대-ETRI 학연플랫폼사업, 반도체특성화대학 사업 등 다수의 연구 과제를 수행하고 있으며 삼성전자 파운드리 협력에도 참여한다.
