이원규 교수 연구실(나노재료설계 연구실)은 홍익대 신소재공학과 소속으로, 나노소재 설계와 기계적 불안정성을 활용한 다중 스케일 메카노머터리얼을 연구한다. 저차원 반도체인 이황화텅스텐(WS2)의 표면 재구조화를 통한 차세대 수전해 촉매 개발 등의 연구를 수행하였다.
