김현철 교수 연구실(기능성 나노메디슨 연구실)은 서강대 화학공학과 소속으로, siRNA·mRNA 등 유전자 기반 치료제를 세포 내로 효과적으로 전달하는 나노전달체를 연구한다. 세포막을 직접 관통하는 나노드릴 기술을 개발해 전달 효율을 높였으며, 이를 활용해 암·면역 질환 치료용 mRNA 백신과 siRNA 기반 기능성 나노메디슨을 개발한다.
